Waxing for recreational skiers/boarders
Recreational skier/boarder
1st layer Level 1 – Universal Wax
This universal wax is suitable for all skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to advanced, looking for a single, versatile wax for all snow conditions. This wax not only improves the ski's gliding properties but also cares for the ski base. Level 1 Universal Wax is available in both block and liquid form.
Or 1st layer Level 2 – MX Solid Wax
Level 2 MX waxes are higher quality than Level 1 waxes and ensure optimal gliding properties under various snow conditions and temperatures. The MX line is divided into three colors (yellow, red, and blue), each covering different temperature ranges to achieve the best gliding properties.
Temperature ranges of the level 2 MX solid waxes:
- Blue: -25 to -12 degrees Celsius
- Red: -14 to -4 degrees Celsius
- Yellow: -6 to +20 degrees Celsius
This Level 4 wax is one of the great secrets of the VOLA wax collection:
- Better wax than the Level 1 and 2 MX waxes.
- This wax is even harder than the MX Blue wax and is therefore ideal for protecting your base against drying out and burning.
- The MX901 delivers excellent gliding properties across the entire temperature range.
2nd layer – Level 4 Liquid Wax
The Level 4 Liquid waxes can be used as a possible second layer to be able to adjust the temperature range even better and therefore get even better gliding properties.
If you're less of a fanatic or don't always have time for hot waxing, you can also properly maintain your skis with Liquid Wax. Just be sure to reapply a warm layer of Basic Wax in time (after about three or four days). This is especially important for protecting your bases.
For good gliding properties, fluorine-free MX liquid waxes are sufficient. With the correct temperature selection, the gliding properties are excellent for non-competitive use. MX Level 4 liquid waxes are very economical and easy to apply.
