MACH Wax Use: MACH wax has excellent water-repellent properties, which is ideal for damp snow conditions, but not for dry snow. Here are some guidelines for using different MACH waxes based on moisture content:
- Humidity < 25% = No MACH (MX-E)
- Humidity 25% - 50% = LMach
- Humidity > 50% = HMach
As a rule of thumb, you can also look at the snowball test:
- If you can't make a snowball (too dry): MX-E
- If the snowball stays dry: LMach.
- If the snowball is very compact or even has moisture leaking out of it: HMach.
